“We look at the world once, in childhood— the rest is memory” — Louise Glück
Hello. I’m a freelance strategist & writer, full-time mom & children’s bookstore owner at Nooks in Lancaster, PA.
After relocating from Australia, I spent a decade in NYC teaching, consulting for startups, non-profits & running my own business.
In 2021, we left Brooklyn, bought a house, had a baby & opened a children’s bookstore in hopes of slowing down a little bit & getting off the internet.
I got my start in New York working to combat the water crisis in the early days of charity:water, I ended my New York chapter working with Dakota Johnson’s film production company TeaTime Pictures. In between I did a lot of strategy & copywriting for Human NYC, Bobbie for Change, Swehl, Saie, Two Front, Anya, Health Ade, Base, Gordon Oak, June Days.
For fun I ran a startup [reads] with my best friend Rachael Yaeger to get people reading more books. This will always be a favorite time in my life. I also curate films with my friend Beth from Oak Park Studio— it’s a running catalog of Very Good Films.

How to Be Perfect BY RON PADGETT
Get some sleep. Don't give advice.
Take care of your teeth and gums.
Don't be afraid of anything beyond your control. Don't be afraid, for instance, that the building will collapse as you sleep, or that someone you love will suddenly drop dead.
Eat an orange every morning.
Be friendly. It will help make you happy.
Raise your pulse rate to 120 beats per minute for 20 straight minutes four or five times a week doing anything you enjoy.
Hope for everything. Expect nothing.
Take care of things close to home first. Straighten up your room before you save the world. Then save the world.
Know that the desire to be perfect is probably the veiled expression
of another desire—to be loved, perhaps, or not to die.
Be skeptical about all opinions, but try to see some value in each of them. Dress in a way that pleases both you and those around you.
Learn something new every day.
